The Grand Canal & Dents Channel

The Grand Canal - Boat Fuel Delivery.jpg

The southernmost tip of St. Pete Beach is where old Florida still lives. Pass-a-Grille's strict development regulations have kept the high-rises away, preserving a quiet historic district with mature landscaping, narrow streets, and waterfront homes that face both the Gulf and the Intracoastal. For homeowners with private docks along the Pass-a-Grille channel, Mobile Marina is the perfect fit.

Water-Based Fuel Delivery for St. Pete Beach Boaters

Skip the detour. Your fuel comes to you.

St. Pete Beach sits on a narrow barrier island with the Gulf on one side and Boca Ciega Bay on the other—surrounded by water, but miles from the nearest fuel dock. Getting gas means a trip to Pasadena Marina or all the way into downtown St. Petersburg, burning time and fuel just to fill up.

We built Mobile Marina for exactly this situation. Our fueling vessels navigate directly to your dock, delivering premium non-ethanol REC 90 and diesel while you go about your day. No bridge timing, no slow-speed zones, no waiting at the pump. Just a full tank ready for Shell Key, the Pass-a-Grille sandbar, or wherever the day takes you.

Eliminating the Friction of Island Boating

Eliminate the "Pre-Dawn Fuel Run" Problem: Offshore anglers know the drill: you want to be through the pass at first light, which means leaving in the dark. But fuel docks don't open until 8 AM—so you either run out the day before and burn fuel just to get fuel, or you start your trip with a half-empty tank and hope the bite is close. Mobile Marina changes the equation. Schedule a delivery the evening before, and wake up to a full tank. No detours, no delays, no math about whether you have enough range for the Middle Grounds.

Water-Based Delivery (No Trucks, No Hassle): Tierra Verde's island geography means one thing for truck-based fuel delivery: long hoses. Traditional fuel trucks have to park on the street and drag heavy hoses across your property, through gates, around landscaping, down to your dock. Our approach is different. We pull up to your seawall by boat—the same way your neighbors visit. It's cleaner, quieter, and it keeps heavy equipment off the narrow island roads.

Fuel Ready When You Return: Late returns from offshore are a reality. Weather changes, the fish are biting, or you just lose track of time enjoying the Gulf. When you finally make it back through the pass, the last thing you want to worry about is whether the fuel dock is still open. With Mobile Marina, your next fill-up is already scheduled. Come home, tie up, and know that we'll have you topped off before your next adventure.

We Fill You Up, You Enjoy The Water

Don't ruin a good day on the water with a detour to the pump. We fill your tank so you can head straight to:

Local Sandbars & Islands

  • Shell Key Preserve: Just 5-7 minutes from Tierra Verde Marina, Shell Key is the closest pristine barrier island destination—and it's only accessible by water. The white sand beaches, protected shallow waters, and exceptional shelling make it perfect for families and first-time boat owners. Unlike the crowded sandbar scene at John's Pass, Shell Key offers peaceful anchoring in a preserved natural setting. We'll keep your tank full so you can make it a regular stop.

  • Egmont Key State Park: The historic lighthouse, snorkeling around the old fort ruins, and the chance to spot dolphins and sea turtles make Egmont Key a bucket-list destination for Tampa Bay boaters. It's about 30 minutes from Tierra Verde through the shipping channel—far enough that you want a full tank before you go. The ferry runs from Fort De Soto, but arriving by your own boat lets you explore the island on your own schedule.

Dock & Dine Favorites

  • The Wharf Restaurant: Just down the channel from the marina, The Wharf offers waterfront dining with views of the pass. It's the kind of place where you can pull up by boat, tie off at the dock, and enjoy fresh seafood while watching the offshore fleet come home.

  • Island Grill and Raw Bar: Located at the Tierra Verde Marina Resort, the Island Grill features live music, tropical cocktails, and fresh seafood—all steps from your slip. It's the perfect spot for a sunset drink after a day on the water.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A: Yes, with some planning. We run scheduled routes through Tierra Verde, so the key is getting on our regular weekly schedule. Once you're set up, your tank stays full and you're always ready for that early morning run. If you have a special trip coming up, reach out to one of our captains in advance and we'll work you into our route—just give us a few days' notice rather than expecting same-day service.

  • A: We work with marinas that don't have their own fuel docks—we're happy to coordinate with marina management to deliver directly to your slip. However, Tierra Verde Marina and Port 32 both have their own fuel service on-site, so those locations are already covered. If you're at a residential dock or a marina without fuel service, we'd love to help.

  • A: We're not an on-demand delivery service—we run efficient routes through service areas on scheduled days. The best way to use Mobile Marina is to set up a recurring schedule (weekly or bi-weekly) so your tank is always topped off. This way, you're never scrambling for fuel before a trip. We send the weekly schedule out on Fridays, so if you need to adjust, just let us know by Sunday evening to get on the following week's route.

  • A: This is exactly why we recommend recurring service. When you're on a regular schedule, your tank gets filled whether you're home or not—so even if you come back late, your next fill-up is already on the books. The key is planning ahead rather than waiting until you're on empty.

  • A: Yes. We deliver marine diesel with a 50-gallon minimum. For larger sportfishers, plan ahead and coordinate with our team—we'll make sure you're on the route with the capacity you need.
